Digital Scholarship After Twitter (RIP): Where have all the networks gone? Online

This online workshop focuses on the academic social networks that form the backbone of what's known as digital scholarship. It will outline how & why Twitter (now X) played a key role in the development of digital scholarly networks, the value those networks offered faculty and graduate students, and the academic exodus to other social networking platforms in the wake of Musk's Twitter takeover. The workshop will showcase alternate emergent platforms and pathways to building robust digital scholarly networks andcommunities, while also highlighting perils and pitfalls of scholarly public engagement in this era of weaponized media. By Dr. Bonnie Stewart, University of Windsor.
