Taking, Organizing, and Using Notes for Academic and Professional Learning and Success Online

This workshop will approach strategies for taking, organizing, and then using notes with a focus on notes from lectures or course readings that you might encounter in classes. Starting with the idea of taking notes, we'll consider different strategies for taking notes, such as the Cornell Notes system, and their benefits. To make our notes as discoverable as possible, we'll consider different ways to organize notes, including the use of personal knowledge management (PKM) systems, such as Notion and Obsidian, to help you find your notes when you need them. Finally, we'll consider how to get the most out of your notes, circling back to consider how the way we use our notes might inform the way we take notes. By Matty Johnson, USF Libraries.
