Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in R with lavaan Online
This workshop introduces confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which is used to verify the structure of a construct (i.e., confirm that observed variables measure a construct following a preconceived theory) and introduces the lavaan package in R, which is a free, open-source package in R for latent variable modeling, including CFA, structural equation modeling, and path analysis. The workshop will briefly discuss CFA and introduce lavaan syntax though neither will be discussed comprehensively. The workshop will primarily walk through two examples with existing data: a single-factor CFA model and a correlated three factor CFA model. By Matty Johnson, USF Libraries.
Prior knowledge of R and R Studio is highly recommended. Consider attending our other workshops on R.
