Creating and Curating Academic Profiles in Library Resources Online
Every researcher accumulates a scattered digital footprint, with publications indexed under slightly different name variants, profiles auto generated by databases you never logged into, and no single place that reliably points back to you. This session introduces the tools USF researchers can use to consolidate and control that footprint using ORCID, USF's Digital Commons repository, and the author-profile features built into Scopus and Web of Science, and other free and subscription resources. Participants will leave having created or verified their own ORCID iD, the anchor identifier that ties the rest of these profiles together, along with guidance on populating and maintaining the others. By the end of this workshop, participants will have created or verified their ORCID iD. identified the steps to claim, request, or verify author profiles in Scopus, Web of Science, and USF's Digital Commons repository, and be aware of how to evaluate which additional profile platforms are worth maintaining based on their discipline and visibility goals.
