Law & Ethics of Using AI in Research Online

This workshop session explores the legal and ethical considerations involved in using generative AI in academic research. Participants will examine privacy and copyright issues, including how intellectual property laws apply to AI-generated content and the responsibilities researchers have in protecting sensitive information. The session will also address relevant policy matters, such as publisher guidelines, university regulations, and funder requirements that impact the use of AI technologies in research.
